The sacred scriptures are the midwife and nurse of the soul-spirit. Some awaken the soul-spirit by meditation, sometimes it is awakened through a vision, in some it awakens through good works, in others through labor. It can be awakened by creativity and love, there are many means to suit the numerous conditions of men. A few may not feel the stirrings of an awakening soul-spirit, some may rely only on the words of others, but because they believe and act accordingly these, too, shall awaken to conscious survival.
So wonderful is the state of a newly awakened soul-spirit, so delightful the experience of sudden realization, that none who has known it will ever forget. None will ever find words adequate to describe it to others. There is no thought except a deep awareness of life, of being. There is a sense of deeper reality than that of ordinary consciousness. Faith in the reality of the soul-spirit then gives way to certainty and assurance, for how can any man doubt the greatest experience of his life?
The glory of the stars shining in the nightskies is truly revealed once in the darkness. It is as children that men begin to sense the mystery of silence, the mystery which reveals the universe. Silence is the secret of the soul-spirit.
